5 Ways To Make a Tiny Bathroom Look Bigger

When space is tight in a home, the room that usually suffers the lack the most is the bathroom. You may not be able to completely remodel your bathroom to actually make it larger, but there are several tricks you can use to make it look like there’s more space than there is.

  1. Long Lines

Many design plans involve different patterns for the top and bottom of the wall. By sticking to one color or pattern throughout the room, however, you give the illusion of longer lines and more space.

  1. Simple Features

Complicated or busy designs break up the viewer’s gaze, drawing attention to how little area the room covers. Choose simple features, such as frameless shower doors West Palm Beach, for a more streamlined effect.

  1. Large Mirrors

A mirror reflects everything in front of it. It thereby automatically gives an impression of a larger room. Install a large mirror over the vanity to increase the perception of a larger bathroom.

  1. Recessed Shelves

It’s nice to have storage in the bathroom, but traditional shelving units can take up a lot of space. This makes the room look unnecessarily crowded. If you install recessed shelving in your walls, however, you get the storage you need without taking up valuable room.

  1. Natural Lighting

Finally, whenever possible, use natural light. You want a lot of light in your bathroom, particularly over the vanity, but a flood of industrial light can be too harsh for a small space. Supplement your lighting with a skylight or sheer curtains over the window to let the sun shine in.

A small bathroom may be perfectly functional but look cluttered and uninviting. You don’t have to completely overhaul your tiny bathroom to make it look less cramped, though. With a few design tweaks, you can give the illusion that the room is bigger.
